Early in Mr. Farnham's Biology class, I asked a question in class that he found silly and he let me know. I stayed after class and told him why the question I had asked wasn't silly to me. He listened to me and apologized. After this we had a great student-teacher relationship. I signed up to become his service worker the following year. I fed and cleaned up after mice, rats, Iggy the iguana, toads, chuckwallas... even had a nightmare once about the eel. Not something most high school students get to experience! Now I work at Pali and often use this story when a student comes to me having difficulty with a teacher. Mr. Farnham was a remarkable man, a gifted teacher, and a unique individual who I'm sure had a lasting impact on all who were his students. I think of him every time I walk by F201.
